Major Moscow's Assaults Eliminate Electricity Across Ukraine's Capital

Energy infrastructure targeted in Ukraine
The country's energy systems have come under increased strikes in the past few days

Overnight, Moscow's missile and drone strikes have caused electricity outages in large parts of Ukraine's capital, the Ukrainian capital.

Several individuals were wounded while local people in eastern districts were left without electricity and faced interruptions to water supplies, as stated by local authorities.

At the same time, a young boy was fatally injured in a separate assault in the southeastern region in the country's south-east, according to area administrators.

Moscow has escalated strikes on energy facilities over recent weeks, while the country's government has demanded "real steps" from allies to apply pressure on Russia.

"What is required is not superficial actions but firm measures - from the United States, the EU and the major economies - in providing defensive weapons and enforcing restrictions," he wrote in a social media post.

Officials stated that 450 drones and several dozen missiles attacked the country's power systems, describing such attacks as "premeditated" and against "essential services" as the weather cools.

Energy officials said Russia was "conducting extensive attacks" and repair crews were striving to restore power.

A wave of strikes hit power facilities and apartment buildings in Kyiv.

Multiple people injured in the strikes on the city have been taken to hospital, per statements from local officials.

Area administrators said the metropolitan region endured intense attacks during nighttime hours. A seven-year-old child died and multiple civilians were hurt.

The attacks succeed periods of aerial attacks in the region, parts of which are currently controlled by invading troops.

The entire country is under warning for hypersonic Kinzhal missile strikes, which are more difficult to detect.

Government officials told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to demolish the electrical infrastructure, with strikes already disrupting energy systems.

Officials stated utility staff and authorities were preparing for additional strikes.
